All Syntax and no blog would only make me pass

Well it's that time of the year again. First semester assignments and exams due like Flint.

The award-winning* blitzkrieg by The Robot Invasion is advancing well. To have the ability to either agree or disagree with me, come along to The Tote on Sunday 27 May. Doors at 7pm. $5. See poster.

'What poster?'

'This poster!'

As you can see, also playing are Rise and Shine and The Tabasco Junkies. (Warning: MySpace links.) We've already told the venue that you're coming, so if you don't it's like you're stealing money from CUB.

The Tote has a special significance because I've never been there, even though it's one of Melbourne's Music Pubs. For some pathetic reason or another it just hasn't happened. Me just being twenty years old is one of those pathetic reasons. Anyway, when mclusky came out to play Australia in 2004 I wasn't quite eighteen and I always regret not trying at all to get to their gig, which was at The Tote. Because, of course, mclusky broke up in January of 2005 to the ire of all sensible music lovers. That's right. If you don't love mclusky, you're an ice smoking Thirsty Merc fan.

I've got the last Syntax assignment due tomorrow. It's all about grammatical relations. Believe me, it's neither as moist nor as exciting as 'relations' would have you believe. My current procrastination regime involves a mixture of diuretics and drinking too much water. Not Shane Warne circa 2005 diuretics, just too much coffee and tea. By the time I get a genuine desire to start on my Syntax assignment it's squashed by an overwhelming need to urinate. I'm talking morning pisses, getting off an aeroplane pisses, a veritable firehose of waters into the water pisses.

Talking about aeroplanes, I've almost got a month to go til the uni trip to the States. We had the first meeting about it last week, with the second and third over the next two Fridays. Useless detail? Probably.

I'm listening to lots of Ween at the moment. It's really helping me with life. You should listen to Ween too. The Mollusk is my favourite album but they're all good records.

It's probably time that I get another cup of java and settle down to wait for the next call, but hey, look after yourself, eat fresh fruit and vegetables and talk to the elderly.

*Currently defined as winning a heat in Ruby's Lounge's Unsigned Battle of the Bands last Sunday.
