Important news is that the battle has been won. I have finished volume one of In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust - after two renewals and much consternation.
The last third of the book I didn't bother to read properly, and I won't attempt any more volumes until I have a couple more years through me at least.
It is a masterwork, but it's rather like wading through a marshy swamp. There's a lot of wisdom, but an equal amount of crap. No wonder it's widely admired but little read.
Here's two quotes that I've enjoyed during the week:
"To live is to learn to forget." - Descartes
"Fascism will come ... in the guise of National Security." Jim Garrison, District Attorney of Orleans Parish, Louisiana, 1967
The Robot Invasion gig at TLC went well. RIP Sounds Like Chicken. Hooray San Salvador. Here's us rocking out. Thanks to Elle for the photo!

Make sure you (yes, you) come to our next gig at Ruby's in Belgrave on the 29th of April. It's a battle of the bands, and the crowd votes to decide the winner, so you need to be there.
