The CDs On My Occasional Table

I've clearly jumped on the bandwagon of reviewing music as the year turns. If magazines get the chance to tell us what we should have listened to, self-aggrandising bloggers certainly have the privilege - nay, the very right - to place themselves comfortably on a soapbox and review their consumption.

No, I don't know what an occasional table is (before I read Uncyclopedia), but I have one. Sort of. Instead of going to the effort of typing up a proper top 10 list, these are the CDs I have bought recently, released this year and that don't fit into my CD racks.

And instead of writing anything except the artist and title of the album, I am demonstrating how the albums made me feel, inside.

In no particular order:

Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. Drowning in the Fountain of Youth.

Drowning in the Fountain of Youth Review

The Black Keys. Magic Potion.

Magic Potion Review

The Flaming Lips. At War With The Mystics.

At War With The Mystics Review

The Panda Band. This Vital Chapter.

This Vital Chapter Review

Sarah Blasko. What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have.

What the Sea... Review

Belle & Sebastian. The Life Pursuit.

The Life Pursuit Review

As you can see from my Hottest 100 voting, this is pretty close to what I would've gone for anyway. But life has a funny way of making these things happen.
